Sari Solden is a psychotherapist who specializes in assisting men and women with ADHD and mental health professionals who want to support them. With 35 years of experience in counselling adults, consulting with experts, and presenting on this topic worldwide, her two previous books, Women with Attention Deficit Disorder and A Radical Guide for Women with ADHD (co-authored with Michelle Frank, PsyD), have become bestsellers in the field.

Journeys Through ADDulthood aims to assist men, women, and professionals by offering a roadmap to a more fulfilling life while exploring the emotional turmoil that often accompanies ADHD.

Solden acknowledges that living with ADHD can impact one's sense of self, particularly for those not diagnosed until adulthood after spending years feeling "different" without understanding why. She takes a long-term approach to addressing the challenges with no quick fixes. Instead, she views successful living with ADHD as an ongoing internal process.

Journeys Through ADDulthood is a step-by-step guide through three internal journeys, each of which has self-help exercises at the end of the chapter. The first journey involves understanding one's brain and primary symptoms, the second explores discovering one's true identity and embracing uniqueness, and the final journey focuses on learning to share one's true self to connect with others.

Solden's ideas are illustrated through the composite journeys of two men and two women with varying ADHD symptoms. She highlights common obstacles to empowerment, self-fulfillment, and the realization of long-buried hopes and dreams.
