“People with ADHD often have a special ‘feel for life’, a way of seeing right into the heart of matters, while others have to reason their way along methodically.”

Do I need a formal diagnosis to join this group?

Not at all. We understand that obtaining a diagnosis can be a challenging process, and it's crucial to have a supportive community to help guide you through your journey.

I am not located on Vancouver Island; can I still join?

Our group is open to everyone, regardless of their location. However, please note some content, local resources, and events may be specific to Vancouver Island.

Are there any fees, dues or otherwise obligations to join?

No, you don't. Volunteers run our organization, and we are a non-profit society. We welcome any donations or assistance keeping the group running, but we will never pressure you to contribute. Your participation in the group is already a valuable contribution in itself.

I want to participate in the online group but am not yet comfortable sharing. Is that okay?

Absolutely. You are welcome to join and listen in, and take your time to get comfortable with the group. You can inform one of the hosts or send a message in the chat to let them know. Please refer to our safety policy for more information.

If I feel lost in a meeting, what should I do?

Please get in touch with a host in the chat; it’s normal, and you can message directly. After the fact, use our contact page. We’ve all been there.

How do I know if I have ADHD?

The symptoms of ADHD can vary depending on the individual, but some common signs may suggest you have ADHD. If you don’t have a formal diagnosis, here is a good place to start.

My child has ADHD, or I suspect they do, can they join?

This group is specifically for adults with ADHD. Although we understand they are the same, children and adults need different resources and support. Please check out CHADD—Children and Adults with ADHD

Do I have to attend every online meeting?

You can join the meetings that fit your schedule and interests. We understand everyone has unique circumstances, and we encourage you to participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable. Nobody is going to chase you down.

Will you help me seek medical advice?

We can offer guidance and information to help you seek medical advice, but we are a peer support group. Medical professionals do not lead our support group, but rather a diverse and compassionate group of individuals with different backgrounds and experiences.
